On the azalea hillside at the Arboretum this morning, I had an excellent 30-second view of a male BAY-BREASTED perched in a bush--before it disappeared into the trees. Also on the hillside, seen were: MAGNOLIA (1), CHESTNUT-SIDED (1), YELLOW-RUMP (lots), PALM (1), and heard only: N. PARULA, BLACK AND WHITE, BLACKPOLL.

At or near the turnaround up from the intersection of Holly Springs and Hickey Hill roads, there was a beautiful male BLACKBURNIAN singing away. Also seen in this area: AMERICAN REDSTART and BLACK-THROATED BLUE (1 seen here but several heard throughout), and heard only, OVENBIRD and WORM-EATING.

On Hickey Hill, I heard BLACK-THROATED GREEN (2).

Other interesting birds seen or heard: CEDAR WAXWINGS, ACADIAN FLYCATCHER, VEERY, WOODTHRUSH, PEEWEE, BROWN THRASHER, BALTIMORE ORIOLE, YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO, SCARLET TANAGER, INDIGO BUNTING, AND RED-EYED VIREO.

I keep hearing what I think are Nashvilles, but can't say for sure, not seeing them. All I see in the vicinity are yellow-rumps.
