Over the din of bells and sticks of the dancing Morris
men and women, Lisa Shannon, Dave Mozurkewich, and I
were able to record 14 species during the hour or so
after sunrise:

Herring Gull - about 6 flying over
Rock Pigeon
Mourning Dove
Chimney Swift
Eastern Kingbird
Blue Jay
White-breasted Nutchatch
American Robin
European Starling
Yellow Warbler
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Song Sparrow
White-throated Sparrow
Common Grackle
House Sparrow (confirmed breeder, feeding young)

We had another species but I can't remember what it
was. Fortunately the young House Sparrows stayed in
their nest in the gazebo this year.

Happy May Day
