“Birding Across Florida ”

Bob Mumford, author and photographer

Bob will present a photographic overview of birding
and natural areas in Florida , from well-known
destinations to lesser-known birding hot spots. Bob
will cover such common destinations as Everglades
National Park , Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge,
and Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuges, which are
places practically every birder visiting south Florida
goes. But he will also show work from Fort Desoto ,
Avon Air Force Park, Estero Lagoon, the Dry Tortugas
and some urban areas. Florida specialties such as
Black-hooded Parakeets, Eurasian Collared Dove,
Florida Scrub Jay, Purple Gallinule and Reddish Egrets
will be shown, as well as some genuine rarities like
Bahama Mockingbird and Shiny Cowbird. There will also
be a few scenic landscapes for context.

Bob will have his new coffee table book, "Spring Comes
to Washington " available for sale.
