On Tuesday (May 8) on my way home from work, I saw a BALD EAGLE near the
intersection of Woodland Road and Tulip Drive, just 2 blocks from E.
Deer Park Dr near Old Town Gaithersburg. It was in the road standing
over a dead squirrel (or something about that size) when I arrived at
the stop sign. I just sat there and we stared at each other for a
couple minutes before it grabbed the dead animal and flew off up Tulip
Dr. toward Duvall Park. I was amazed to see an eagle in such a
residential neighborhood so far from water. I've seen bald eagles at
Black Hills Regional Park, but I've not seen them in Gaithersburg before
this.
