Dear All

After the first warm night for some time and a bit of cloud I thought that it
might be a good morning for a crop of new birds in Rock Creek, but alas it was
not the case. Despite the small number of birds the stalwart few plugged
away for a couple of hours after dawn around the Nature Centre, Stables and
Maintenance Yard and on reflection did accrue a nice list of common migrants -
a 12 warbler day can't be described as completely uneventful.

Warblers: Yellow-rumped (40), Black & White (2), Parula (4), Hooded (1 seen
and heard), Magnolia (1), Blackpoll (2), B t Blue (3), B t Green (5),
Yellowthroat (2), Redstart (3 - none seen), Ovenbird (2 heard) plus a Yellow
not seen by us.

Other things: Baltimore Oriole (10), Scarlet Tanager (1), Red-eyed Vireo (3),
Wood Thrush (2), Swamp Sparrow (1), G C Flycathcer (3).

The next crop of migrants awaits...

Gary
