The weather change was enough to move out the old birds and bring in a few
new ones, and along with them came species #100 for Ft. Bayard Park: a
SAVANNAH SPARROW foraging among the buttercups and grass.
I had planned to give credit here if someone had won my informal "guess bird
#100" game, but it looks like this bird surprised everyone.
Warblers today included an Ovenbird making the best of the rather limited
habitat, plus Black-throated Blue, Black & White, and just one Yellow-rump.
A Scarlet Tanager, probably a new migrant, since I haven't seen one in several
days, also made an appearance.
