Spent the weekend on a neighborhood campout at Assateague Island State Park. I spent a little time birding. Highlight was a Sooty Shearwater seen Saturday afternoon from the beach at loop F heading south 200 yds off the beach. A short seawatch this morning produced a distant jaeger also heading south. Nice numbers of Least Tern (c10 at one time) and 2 1st year Lesser Black-backs were the only other notables.
Virtually no landbird migrants around though breeders in decent numbers. On a short walk through the woods on Saturday morning I flushed a pair of Great Horned Owl and a Chuck Will's-widow.
