Marsh Wren, Wilson's Warbler, Merlin, Orioles, & others - Allegany Co.

Mikey Lutmerding and I had a great evening of birding along the C&O
Canal - North Branch just off Rt 51 S & PPG Rd. A stroll toward the
"tarps" yielded a hoard of orioles, including both Orchard &
Baltimore. A high flying Merlin jettisoned in a southeasterly
direction overhead. Then the highlight of the night came when we saw a
male Wilson's Warbler followed shortly by  a singing Marsh Wren as the
trail traced behind the prison. This is my third Marsh Wren since
coming to FSU, and the second we've seen in Allegany Co. in about 2
weeks. Other notables included one male Bobolink and a few Common
Nighthawks in Cumberland city. Here's a rundown of our species:
