Weather: Partly cloudy, becoming mostly cloudy as the front approached; 75-82
degrees; another day of strong winds from the SW, 9-17 mph, gusting to 26
mph; fair visibility with haze
Raptor Observations: Another day of SW winds, another day of good raptor movement, including 3
more Mississippi Kites, bringing the 4-day total and season total of MK's
to 6 (2,0,1,3). First today, an adult female at 2:05 pm, visible for over
5 minutes; second at 3:00, third at 3:28, both of unknown age.
Non-raptor Observations: Lots of swallows, dragonflies, and bees today, especially as the front
approached; 12 Spotted Sandpipers

Site Description:
Fort Smallwood Park is located on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay at
the mouth of the Patapsco River, 11 miles south of Baltimore, MD. Best
winds are from the southwest.
