Interesting to note that Bob Ringler said in a
previous report that Summer Tanager was probably the
best bird on that particular list. I've worked here at
the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center in
Edgewater since summer 2004 and had been looking in
vain for SUTA until this spring. On one day I had
three! Is this a possible incremental range expansion
or have I just been missing them at SERC for the last
two years? They're relatively common in Calvert and
St. Mary's but certainly not so in southern Anne
Arundel, in my limited experience.
