Many of the birds that came in a few days ago seem to be around today, 5/17.
But a MOURNING WARBLER in the thicket at the corner of Princeton and Fordham
was new, or simply not detected previously. It sang intermittently and gave
a brief (30 second) glimpse. The warblers totaled 13 species, a fair
portion of the 22 seen or, mostly, heard here this spring:

2 Northern Parula
3 Chestnut-sided
2 Magnolia, one female
3 Black-throated Blue, 1 female
2 Yellow-rumped
1 Blackburnian
1 Bay-breasted, female
4 Blackpoll
3 Redstart
1 Ovenbird
1 Northern Waterthrush
1 MOURNING
1 Canada

Yesterday I had two Gray-cheeked Thrushes singing and calling in the back
yard. I just heard one calling as I write this.
