Many on the listserv are probably in a situation, but just in case anyone is
interested we've got black cherry and oak seedlings (from last year's mast)
galore. Hate to see them go to waste as there are more than we could
possibly ever use or let grow.

Our black cherry trees were host to Scarlet tanagers, Magnolia warblers this
migration season and it's fun to watch the birds inspect the ripening fruit
hourly in June/July. Also is host to Eastern Tent caterpillar, which is, I
learned while at Cape May last year, is a preferred food of Cuckoos.

Oak species are White Oak and I believe Red Oak, both really good trees for
birds. We had everything from Scarlet tanagers to black throated greens to
Blackburnians this year in our oaks.

Thank you Norm for allowing this post!

Cheers,

W. Olsson
