Hi all,

After miss the boat to Hart-Miller Island. But I
was on time and they left early. After that, I decided
to go to the park and ride to see if anybody arrive
late for BBC's Bombay Hook trip on Nursery Rd. Before
I got there, there is a sub-adult Mississippi Kite
catching thermal above I-695 before Bear Creek toward
Key Bridge. I couldn't find any place to pull over as
I'm driving 60 on 55 limit on I-695 toward Key Bridge.
I slowed down a bit to get better look (no traffic at
that time). It was spotted at 718am. Not sure where it
headed and was still catching thermal when I left.

I have seen Mississippi Kite few times, twice at
Sean's yard, several times in Georgia while visiting
family and once in Texas.

Sue Ricciardi, you out there, I hope you got this
bird from Ft Smallwood around 7am or so.

On way back after pay toll both way, stopped by
several locations to see if the kite still around.
Haven't found it. Several location I stopped were
Oxygen Pond, unknown named pond west of North Point SP
in area called old abandoned roadbeds and Community of
Chesapeake Terrace at Old Road Bay. A lot of other
birds around. Will post full report soon.

Someday we could set up a mini-hawkwatch on
Baltimore side facing Ft Smallwood so we can spot the
kite headed up our way. I was told they saw several
kites headed in both directions, some to Sparrows
Point and to Baltimore.
