Birding back country of Easton Talbot Bird Club 5 - 20

   Hi all   The  Talbot  County Bird  Club  walk    of  5 -  20  led by Jan 
Reese  took us  to some of the back roads and  more rural parts  of the   
Easton   area.  we  found  65 species .  Afterwards about  half of the  
birders  enjoyed a   very  nice brunch  at The home  Mr and Mrs Lester Coble 
  . Thanks go out to them   for hosting the   last brunch of the season  . 
highlights below

Great Blue  Heron       1
Bald  Eagle     1  immature
Wood Duck     1 female      flew by the creek in back of the  Coble's  home 
as the tally was  being
                                       conducted
Mallards       some in the road  at one place
BARRED    OWL         1 adult   and     1    recently fledged young
Red Bellied Woodpecker
Downy woodpecker
Flicker
Acadian    Flycatcher     1       heard only
Great crested Flycatcher
Red  Eyed Vireo
White Eyed Vireo
Blue Jay
Horned    Lark         several in several places     one seen gathering 
nesting material   by a few of us
Eastern  Bluebird               1    male      graveyard  north of Easton   
on rt 50
Robin
Catbird
Mockingbird          One  gifted  songster      giving    a perfect Phoebe 
call  among others   .   No
                            Phoebe  seen .
                           But  we   did see  a  nest beloning to one    at 
the above graveyard   where
                           Mocker  Was
Brown    Thrasher
Cedar    Waxwing      about     100  give or take a few  .     Feeding   on 
some sort of half ripe fruit
                               from an  oramental   cherry    tree      same 
  graveyard as above
Parula    Warbler
Pine  Warbler
Blackpoll    Warbler       1         Coble's Yard     upon arrival
Redstart               1
Prothonotary    Warbler      1     heard    only
Louisiana Waterthrush        1
Yellow throated   Warbler     1 heard only
Grasshopper     Sparrow        several      Easton  airport   as well as 
east of Rt  50  in some fields
Cardinals
Blue Grosbeak         1 male    Easton    Airport
Indigo     Bunting         2
Eastern Medowlark      at least three    Easton    Airport
