The Kennard Elementary School after school birders had a 1/2 day of school,
so 8 of them went to Millstream Park to see what was there. We did not
arrive until nearly 2:00 but the birds were in full chorus. Highlights
include:

Blackpoll Warbler: 1 singing in a tree along the path
Warbling Vireo: 2 singing up a storm and good views of one.
    Common Yellowthroat: at least 1
    Yellow Warbler: 1

We also had the pleasure of watching a Chickadee flying into and out of its
cavity nest in a stump as it fed its young.

Another highlight was watching a small snake trying to catch minnows that
were nearly as big as it was.

The nesting boxes around the school have Carolina Wrens, Carolina
Chickadees, House Wrens and Bluebirds nesting in them.
