PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS MESSAGE OFF FORUM

Things appear a little slow on OSPREY and this might
be of general interest, so i'll respond to the list as
a whole:

The POST in a brief article today (5/24/07, page A14)
mentioned a study by "experts" (no authors mentioned
by name) published in the journal Neurology (most
recent edition is assumed) that claims that a 2 to 4
week course of antibiotics is sufficient for treatment
and that a longer course of antibiotics offers little
benefit. The POST's Health section on TUES, May 15
also had a treatise on the disease.

The journal article may/should be available free
on-line, but i haven't tried to find it. Hope this
helps.

Bees (NOT):
My rhodo was full of blooms as usu, but this year
there have been few bees around to take advantage.
Bees are important, it goes without saying, for many
of our (human) crops, but they are also necessary for
pollination of the berry crops that birds depend on in
the winter months. One of my wild areas grew up into
a thicket of blackberries last year, surprisingly.
The plants are growing back again this year in the
same place, but there will be no fruit unless the bees
make an appearance - here's hoping they do for me and
for the birds who have a valid claim of a share since
they were responsible for "planting" the seeds in the
first place...!!!
