Hi Everyone,

On a different note, I received a call from Carol Grant, gracious host of the Tropical Kingbird in Somerset Co. in December of last year and into January of this year. Carol was a particularly kind host, cheerfully tolerating many crazy birders pointing scopes and cameras at her home for a couple weeks. She explained that she's seen what she thinks might be the Tropical Kingbird around her house for the last few days, and that she wanted to let us know. She's aware that there are similar species in the area during summer, and she couldn't be sure it's definitely the same species. Of course the more likely explanation is that she's spotted a Great Crested Flycatcher or other similar species in the area. However, I was intrigued to hear it spends a lot of time on the wires. It would be extremely noteworthy if the bird returned during the spring, so I hope someone who will be in the area will check it out. Carol said anyone is welcome to drop by.

Search the MDOsprey archives for directions:

Please post if you swing by - it's certainly worth checking out if you're in the area.

Cheers,

Bill
