I live 1/2 mile from the river in a treed, hilly area.  For the past 
two weeks, I have been hearing a 'killdeer', which I assumed was a 
Mockingbird showing off.  However, this morning a bird flew over the 
house calling, "keekeyu, keekeyu, keekeyu", not a Mockingbird.  Do they 
ever nest on grassy areas in neighborhoods?  (I grew up on the prairie, 
so I'm very familiar with their calls.)
