I spent the weekend of April 28-29 in Garrett County, tending to
some family business. On the way home, about 4:00 on Sunday
afternoon, I stopped briefly at the Old Legislative Road site in
Allegany County, hoping to find Henslow's Sparrows. I heard three
singing in the upper part of the field (in the same place where I found
them last June). It was quite windy, and they all stayed well-hidden
in the grass. I also heard one Grasshopper Sparrow singing in the
lower part of the same field.
I apologize for not reporting this observation at the time.
