Bob:

It was heard only but it was actually heard very close to the area where the
car was parked, so if anyone is interested, here's how to get there. Sanity
checks welcome! We had our Birding by Ear II CD with us & listened to the
comparison of the Black throated blue to the Cerulean.

I'd also like to do a plug for the book that helped us find this spot. It's
by Brian Mackay & called "Baltimore Trails". Very useful book.

Directions from the book:
83 N to Exit 31, Middletown Rd, to West. Go 4.8 miles & turn let onto
Beckleysville RD. After .3 miles, Beckleysville Rd. bears left, stay
straight, on cotter Rd. Cotter Rd eventually becomes clipper mill rd. and
crosses Prettyboy Reservoir. Make 1st right, onto Gunpowder Rd. Go .7
miles and park on the wide road shoulder just beyond the bridge over the
Gunpowder River.

Also, we had a junco in our yard on Saturday which I forgot to post.

Wendy,
I believe Black-throated Blue Warbler would be a first record for
Baltimore County in summer. Please give us all the details you can on such
an extraordinary find. Was it seen or heard only? Was it male or female?
Thank you.
