My son and I cruised Hunting Quarter Road and made a brief stop at
Hughes Hollow during the mid-a.m. We viewed the impressive tracks
that Phil mentioned Saturday off the gated path off Hunting Quarter,
then drove to Hughes. The most notable bird was a female hooded
merganser in the main impoundment on the left as you leave the
parking area at Hughes. This is the second time I've seen one there
this June. The last time was June 2. Along Hunting Quarter Road,
heard one yellow-throated vireo and one prothonotary warbler (this
one as we approached Hughes Hollow).
