In response to my request for a list of bird rehabilitators, both Helen
Horrocks and Elise Kreiss suggested the dnr website shown below. That
covers the people throughout the state who have the appropriate credentials
to do the work.

I would invite people who know of Wildlife Rehabilitators to
post a
listing of them. This is especially needed for songbirds, for I expect that
lots of the local birders get the same kind of requests from their neighbors
as Dan and Andy reported. I had a call about a "swallow with a broken wing"
a few days ago, and really was not in position to provide much help here in
the Talbot County area. (By the time I called back, the bird had flown
away. It must have been just stunned from flying into something.) It would
sure help to know where the nearest rehab facility is through all parts of
our state.
