At Deal Island today I watched a Great Egret catch a Virginia Rail and 
then spend 20 minutes killing it and then trying to figure how to 
swallow it. Once he got it positioned head first the Egret took gulps 
of water to smooth the way down.Eventually only the legs were sticking 
out  and a final swallow of water got them down. This was only lunch!
