I went over to the Antietam Battlefiled this morning with Stan Arnold to
check on the Dickcissel. It was singing lustily from its usual perches.

While there we talked with the owner of the property with the tree from
which the bird is often found singing. He said that over the past month
there has been a steady stream of birders coming to see the birds. He had
asked one what all the fuss was about and looked through the birder's scope
to see the bird. Since then he has watched the bird daily and remains very
interested.

He has had nothing but good experiences with the birders who have come to
see the bird. Let's keep it that way.

Also in the Park were a couple of Grasshopper Sparrows, lots of Field and
Chipping Sparrows, and a singing Pairie Warbler.
