Hi Frode,
Your report of a singing sedge wren is of great interest. Could you
give us some details about the ID and location?

	Good Birding!

Hi All,
As everyone else I went Dickcissling yesterday. I chose to go for the
Wye
Island bird since I planned on birding the Eastern Shore as well and
catch
up on my yearlist. I found the Dickcissel singing load and clear along
the
phone wires but also heard a bird singing from the forest edge on the
far
side of the eastern fields.

Along the wildlife Drive at Blackwater I had two flocks of pelicans,
counting 5 and 8 birds (all immatures), a lone Tundra Swan, several Bald
Eagles, a pair of Red-headed Woodpeckers on nest, a few Least Terns, and
at least 3! singing N. Bobwhites (one in the hedge along the parking at
the Visitor Center offering great looks). Along Shorter's Wharf Rd, I
saw
a pair of Mute Swans, several Great and Snowy Egrets, a Greater
Yellowleg,
6+ Bald Eagles, 3 calling Clapper Rails, plenty of Marsh Wrens (rough
estimate), a singing Sedge Wren, and many Seaside Sparrows (perhaps one
or
two Saltmarsh sharpies too but I am too unfamiliar with their songs to
say
for sure).

I should also mention that I last Wednesday, June 27, saw an adult
Yellow-crowned Night-Heron fly west along Fredrick Ave. near the
intersection of North Bend, just within the City limit. "Odd location
for
a heron" I thought at first, but there is a short stretch of open water
around this intersection.

Pictures from yesterday will be posted on
