Hi all,

I walked my dog along Russell Road tonight in hopes of re-locating the Blue
Grosbeak from a couple weeks ago, no luck in that department, but I did find
a WESTERN KINGBIRD. It had limited pink at the gapes of the mouth (nearly
impossible to see in the pics), so it appears to be a juvenile. It also
appeared to show some wear at the tip of the retrices (see pics below). Any
and all comments on the possible age of this bird would be appreciated.
After watching the bird for a bit, I realized I didn't have my phone with
me, so I zipped down to the local gas station to call some folks, and sure
enough, when I got back the bird was gone, in its place a juvenile American
Kestrel feasting on......a vole! I walked around hoping to find the bird
again, and was joined by J.B. Churchill, we waited until dark without the
bird showing again. Hopefully the bird will be seen again tomorrow!
Other notables-
Northern Mockingbird 3
Vesper Sparrow Many
Henslow's Sparrow 1
Grasshopper Sparrow Many
