Another leisurely 4 hr stroll [1020-1420] at L. Roland resulted in largely the same
group of sightings, with a few notables missing this time 'round: Great Egret; Spot-
ted S'piper; YB Cuckoo; Pileated W'pkr; Tree Swallow; G Catbird; and Yellow
Warbler. To balance these, were the following additions (apology, late post):
Red-tailed Hawk--chivvied by 2 RW Blackbirds
C. Flicker--foraging on ground in woods
Willow Flycatcher--perched in 2nd growth willows, n. L. Roland
Ovenbird--off trail woods, perched on low branch, surprised by my incursion
from its ground foraging; silent
BH Cowbird--'nough said
Indigo Bunting--female seen ground foraging; male heard singing lustily
Interesting note: Robin observed splayed awkwardly on ground, anting; it seemed
to be in ecstasy.
New fungi:
Scrambled-egg Slime (Mold)--a beautiful yellow Fuligo septica
Oyster Mushroom--lovely white morph of Pleurotus ostreatus; young growth
