This AM (Sun Jul 8) I failed to find the Grasshopper Sparrow reported by
Paul Pisano y'day. But a finding even more bizarre than that was an
adult, male, full breeding plumage BOBOLINK in the grassy area behind
the first goal post. He was not singing nor was any female was seen. Of
course this must have been a failed nester on early return (but why
couldn't he wait until cryptic fall plumage had set in?) and in no way
suggests nesting - but wouldn't it be nice if it did?
Also present were the resident Kestrel, Chat, Blue Grosbeak, Field Sparrow.
