Hi Everyone,

I spent Sunday birding the Shore with Ed Boyd, Jim Brighton, Matt Hafner, Hans Holbrook, and Jim Stasz. No real bird surprises, though post-breeding dispersal herons were much in evidence at West OC Pond. Unfortunately, our stops there and at Skimmer Island didn't turn up any vagrants. With a Roseate Spoonbill in Jersey, who knows how many White Ibis and other vagrant waders are sneaking around Maryland.

On the way home, Ed, Matt, and I stopped to check in on the Wye Island Dickcissel - still singing his heart out at the same location.

This photo set is mostly insects, but does include shots of the Dickcissel and "calico" Little Blues. The best find of the weekend was a new species of damselfly for Maryland that Jim Stasz, Hans Holbrook, and Jim Brighton discovered in Wicomico yesterday - Duckweed Firetail! We returned on Sunday to further document them. Other highlights were well-documented Atlantic Bluet, Furtive Forktail, and King's and Striped Hairstreaks.

Jim and Hans will post additional photos soon as well.
