Hi all,
On Saturday afternoon my daughter and I were listening to the local mocker
going through his repertoire, trying to identify his various songs. We heard
him do a towhee and wondered why we hadn't heard a towhee from our property.
Well yesterday early morning I was out with a cup of coffee and I heard a
towhee singing from the far corner of our new place! Number 46 I think.

And late yesterday early evening, we were outside playing badminton, when I
saw off in the distance what I first thought was a crow, but I looked at it
again, and mentioned that it didn't look like a crow. The bird disappeared for
a time behind some trees before it flew right over our heads, soaring and
flapping to the NE. A COMMON RAVEN!! This is not only a new yard bird, but the
first bird on my yard list which was not on my yard list in Ashton, making it
doubly special. We are not too far from the Sugarloaf area, as the raven
flies, so I suppose it could be from that population.

Keep looking up...
