Another great day weather-wise: Sunny & mild and breezy. As I birded from
1035 to 1405, the temp's varied from 72 to 82 deg's F and a soothing wind
varied from 5-10 mph. Low humidity assured comfortable walking. Mostly
the usual species, with a couple of new shore birds, a lone and vociferous 
Greater Yellowlegs (got several nice pic's) and a small flight of Least S'pipers,
five in all. There was no water coming over the spillway nor any shooting
through the lower by-pass; "downstream" was reduced to a series of stag-
nant puddles. No fishing activities by either Egret or Heron. The upper lake
was mostly exposed mudflats with only a slender trickle of water meandering
through. Apparently, most of the water had been released in one large swoosh
to power a planned kayak activity. Great. Just what we need during a drought.
A large, dead Carp about 20" or more lay dead in a puddle. Probably more
will follow. Anyway following is a list of those seen/heard*:
