Hello, all,
This isn't a definitive recap mulled about by Jerry Tarbell; just a few thoughts about
a hot, challenging weekend at Salisbury. Perhaps in spite of a low count (~190) of
attendees, a good time was had by all. Saturday night epitomized a rich experience
had by all with a splendid display of a near-full moon, noticeably orange in color,
reminiscent of a Hunter's Moon (couldn't help taking several photos, along with
several others).

My selected outings were led by the Creme de la Creme, in order:
Mark Hoffman: Birder Extraordinaire--N. Assateague I.
Bill Hubick: Birder/Photographer Extraordinaire--W. Wicomico Co.
The Solems: Dragonfly Experts Extraordinaire--Wicomico Co.
Bonnie Ott: Sparrow Expert Extraordinaire--Deal Island area

Sensing an imminent jam in the vicinity of the Bay Bridge, I skulked off without
attending the final tally; sadly, I was right, eventually deviating north, then west,
to return to Baltimore, taking over 4 hrs. to get back, versus less than 2 1/2 hrs.
to drive down to the convention. Just a few highlights from my field trips:
BW Teal
C Loon
B Pelican
LB Heron
Glossy Ibis (reported imm. W Ibis possibly an imm. Glossy)
Clapper Rail
A Oystercatcher
RS Hawk
Pectoral S'piper
Royal Tern
Least Tern
RH W'pecker
YT Warbler
Pine Warbler
Field Sparrow
Grasshopper Sparrow
Saltmarsh ST Sparrow
Seaside Sparrow
Blue Grosbeak
Boat-tailed Grackle

Encountered on all trips:
GB Heron
G Egret
Green Heron
T Vulture
Osprey
Laughing Gull
Herring Gull
RT Hummingbird
E Kingbird
A Crow
F Crow
Purple Martin
Barn Swallow
C Wren
A Robin
G Catbird
Common Yellowthroat
RW Blackbird

Area thunderstorms afforded a free carwash on the return drive. Cheers to all.
