Typically, I would be too busy checking bluebird boxes, but today I
hiked around Greenbury Point, fearless of the ticks or wayward golf
ball drives from the afternoon's slicers. It was great to see all of
the Bobwhites. Sad to think that the Navy will be building rugby
fields in the Bobwhite's fields soon. But, there is a sad shortage of
rugby fields in the area, so something has to be done.

Oddly, the one regular that I did not see this afternoon were the Bluebirds.

Mockingbird
Tree Swallow
Barn Swallow (Easily well over 100+ all over the lower golf course.
Fun to watch.)
Kingfisher
Indigo Bunting (many singing all over the tree tops)
Female Indigo Bunting (1) with vibrant teal scapulars. Impressive.)
Purple Martin (4)
Eastern Kingbird (5)
House Sparrow
Chipping Sparrow
Great Blue Heron
Osprey
American Crow (80+ flew slowly North over the point as the sun was setting)
European Starling
American Goldfinch
House Finch
Mourning Dove
American Robin
House Wren
Red Winged Blackbird
Yellow Breasted Chat (1 heard)
Song Sparrow
Grackle
Northern Cardinal
(*I saw one BALD MALE CARDINAL. Species: Tellyis Savalas Kojaknus.)
Blue Jay
Eastern Wood Pewee
Chimney Swift (75+ flying all over the feilds of wild flowers at the
entrance of the golf course. Incredible.)
Canada Goose
Northern Bobwhite (5 seen and 5 heard. Of those seen, 4 adults, 1 juv.)
Common Yellowthroat (1 juv)

Good birding,
