I was on my back porch around 5:30 today and spied a bird with a bright yellow breast and a greenish-brownish back and an odd pattern of white around the eyes skulking in the brush. It was too large to be a Yellowthroat. I was hoping it could be a Mourning Warbler (Oh boy!). I never got real looks at the whole bird at one time. When I came in and looked at the book I realized - OH - it was a Yellow-breasted Chat. Still good! That's certainly a new yard bird for me, and a sign of ... could it be?...
MIGRATION?

I also saw a Great Blue Heron fly over, which is a pretty rare event, and there has been quite a collection of Eastern Kingbirds in the neighborhood, which is not normal.
