I don't think I've ever heard a whip-poor-will one in August, that's exciting 
Fred!  After reading the link in Phil's reply, my understanding of the lunar cycle 
was greatly eroded.  As long as the birds don't try to learn what a Metonic 
cycle is, we'll all be fine.

I am working at home today and looked briefly out back at lunch time for the 
Black bellies Danny reported this morning, but have no sign of them yet.  I will 
look around again this evening.  I did have a brief but nice view of a Least 
Bittern!
