Hi Everyone,
Took my mother on the bird field trip today to Poplar Island dredge
containment area hosted by M E S . We boarded the boat along with other
MdOspreyers and birders at Tilghmans Island bridge and then were shuttled
around the island by bus . The list should be forthcoming by Kevin Graff. After
the field trip we drove to the end of Tilghman Island to Black Walnut Point and
then back to Tanyard Marsh at the Dover Rd. bridge to look for the Common
Moorhens recently reported by Stan Arnold . Stans reported a family of 6in
this area . Well now its only 5 cause i found one deceased only a few yards
down the roadside. If anyone knows of a organization that may be interested
in it let me know please .I took the bird back to my car and walked back down
to the marsh and found 2 Moorhens at the very first view of water I came
to .Watched them pecking around in the mudflat for a couple minutes and then
they disappeared into the marsh grass. not to be seen again. It should always
be so easy . Lifebird #7 for the day. Had a great day .It was great meeting
the MdOspreyers who were on the trip .
