Since I live about 1 mile from the Queenstown sod farms, I made a quick
visit this morning (about 8:45) to check on the Buff-breasted Sandpipers.
Two birds are still present. I could not locate the third. I even had a
chance to show them to the manager of the farm so he now knows why people
are stopping. I found the Buff-breasted in the far right corner of the
field and watched as they worked their way to the gravel road bisecting the
fields. The weed wacker did not bother them at all. When I left at 9:15,
they were about 25 feet off John Brown Road and feeding contentedly.
Also present: many Killdeer, Least Sandpipers and Horned Larks and 1 Snipe.
For Danny: thanks for the find ... hope you get your photo op.
