Hi Everyone,

A 15-minute stop at Fort Smallwood after work exceeded my wildest expectations. The TRICOLORED HERON was again on the main pond, joined by three SNOWY EGRETs and an immature LITTLE BLUE HERON. An adult COMMON TERN flew right along the shore pursued by two nagging juveniles. One CASPIAN TERN soon followed, as did several LAUGHING GULLs. Suddenly I looked up to see a large gray shorebird with bright white patches in the wing and had excellent looks at a WILLET as it flew south along the shoreline. Plumage appeared consistent with Western. Too cool.

That's a pretty groovy #200 in Anne Arundel. My goal for the year when I moved into my new place was 20 more county birds, hitting 200 in Anne Arundel. I didn't expect to reach that goal in just over three months!

  I like migration.
