I am glad that I added about a possible translation error.

However .... my lack of knowledge (i.e. stupidity) about the lack of hummers 
in Cambodia is only exceeded by my embarassment (i.e. red-faced stupidity) 
for not doing a quick Google fact check.

Les was very kind and gentle in pointing out that hummers are only a New 
World Species.

Maybe the Cambodian meant larks.  There are Roman recipes for lark tongues. 
They begin with "first catch 1000 larks."
