The 2007 Turkey Point Hawk Watch kickoff bird walk will be led by
Sean McCandless
on this coming Saturday, September 1. We'll meet at 7 a.m. in the
Turkey Point parking lot at
the end of MD 272. (From I-95, take exit 100 south towards the town
of North East. The park
is about 9 miles south, after you pass through the community of
Chesapeake Isle.) We don't
usually see too many hawks on Day One, but the broad-wings are
already on the move this year,
and we'll have lots of opportunities to see migrants of all sizes on
the way in and back.

This is usually a fantastic walk with many species observed. If you
haven't been to Turkey Point
(the one on the Eastern Shore), it's a beautiful site with a great
view of the Chesapeake.

I hope you can join us!
