BOOKS AUTHORED BY BROOKE MEANLEY.

Brooke passed away on August 19. Much of his life was spent in our area,
especially in the Great Dismal Swamp, in the Baltimore area, the Eastern
Shore of Maryland and Virginia, and at the Patuxent Wildlife Research
Center.

These titles of his are in my natural history library, hence the personal
references. If there are other books I'd appreciate very much hearing
about them. I am compiling a list of Brooke's journal articles and reports
(92 references so far). Perhaps such a list already exists?

I am not qualified to write an authoritative appreciation of Brooke but
will later post my list of his journal articles as well as my own brief
commemoration. Suffice it to say he was one of the great general
naturalists and an authority on the American Southeast.
