About 8 AM this morning, during a lull while banding hummingbirds ( the
first of many to follow - we only banded 12 birds all morning ) Bruce
Peterjohn took a look at my thistle feeder and said "You have a siskin!" It
flew down to a sunflower feeder where I took a short look at it. Then we
were distracted by a pesky hummingbird flying into the trap and we never
saw the siskin again. I hope it comes back, but so far I haven't seen it
again this afternoon.

The eagle looked down on the river below
And he wrapped his wings round him and he fell like a stone
And the big salmon fought but the talons held true
And he shuddered as the world turned from silver to blue
