Hello!  A few minutes ago this curious individual appeared 
on our deck (Laurel, PG County):

It more or less sat there watching as other birds flew to 
the nearby bird bath.  This, and the edging on the feathers, 
suggest to me a juvenile bird.  But I'm hesitant as to 
species, so I thought I'd solicit some opinions first.  At 
any rate, it's a yard bird! ;)
