Found some nice things over the last few days and a few surprises. I birded
Mt. Aetna Camp on Saturday, Blairs Valley on Sunday, and Big Pool today.
Highlights on Saturday included a calling Alder Flycatcher, 1 Red-breasted
Nuthatch, Nashville Warbler and 2 Least Sandpipers along Black Rock Road.
Sunday I found 2 male Purple Finches, a Bobolink, Least Flycatcher. Today at
Big Pool there were 2 Black Terns, 10 Least Sandpipers, 1 Olive-sided
Flycatcher, 1 Red-breasted Nuthatch, 1 Philadelphia Vireo, 1 Nashville and a
Blackburnian Warbler. I had between 7 and 8 species of warbler each day with
a total of 13 species. Looking forward to things picking up in the next few
weeks.
