Hi Everyone,

Tom Feild and I did a circuit around Fort Smallwood this morning. It was a beautiful day, and we were pleased to hit a small pocket of migrants. Here are some highlights:

  Pied-billed Grebe--1
Little Blue Heron--1 adult, 1 imm.
MERLIN--1 spotted by Jim Gibson as it flew past the pond
  Killdeer--1
  Caspian Tern--1
  RT Hummingbird--1
  Eastern Wood-Pewee--3
  Red-eyed Vireo--3
  * Another vireo that was singing weakly and provided only the poorest look may have been a Philadelphia. Got away.
  White-breasted Nuthatch--2
  Eastern Bluebird--2
  Gray Catbird--1
  Chestnut-sided Warbler--1 imm.
  Magnolia Warbler--2-3
  Black-and-white Warbler--1
  Ovenbird--1
  Eastern Towhee--1-2
  Chipping Sparrow--5

  Have a great weekend,

  Bill
