Hello all.

Anne Arundel County listers, take note:

It started out as a routine day of passerine chasing when I pulled into Brandon
Woods Fields for a quick look around. The oddness started when I noticed a
subadult SNOW GOOSE with about 120 Canada Geese foraging in the back
football field...so I called Bill Hubick and left him a message letting him know.

No sooner do I turn off my cell phone than I look to my left and see an
UPLAND SANDPIPER, 10 feet away, on the gravel-edged road. The bird
roamed around the gravel and grassy areas, coming as close as 6 feet from
me.

After making calls to people and observing it for about 1/2 hour, I finished
scanning the rest of the fields and found a couple of Killdeer and a BUFF-
BREASTED SP! I've birded this peninsula hard for years and though this
particular location is a grassy place, I was pleasantly surprised to see these
birds in such a post-industrial area.

Bill Hubick came by and saw 2 Uppies this afternoon.

The facility is located behind an industrial park. Take Fort Smallwood Road to
Energy Parkway to Perryman Court. The turnoff to Perryman is across from
M&M Maching Company. The fields have a pair of yellow gates (which are kept
open) and an AA county parks sign.

North Arundel represents again!
