Staff from the USFWS's National Wildlife Visitor's Center and the
USGS's Patuxent Wildlife Research Center invite all to attend
the Annual Patuxent Wildlife Festival on Saturday, October 13th
from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The festival is held in celebration of both Earth Science Week
and National Wildlife Refuge Week and includes research and
live animal displays, kid's activities and crafts, and bus tours of
the normally closed-to-public USGS Patuxent Wildlife Research
Center (including a visit to the endangered Whooping Crane
breeding area). All activities are free to the community and tram
tours of the Wildlife Visitor Center, staffed by local naturalists, are
also available for a nominal fee.

The National Wildlife Visitor Center is located off of Powder Mill
Road between the Baltimore Washington Parkway (295) & Route
197 south of Laurel. If you wish to attend but have special
needs, please advise Visitor Center Staff at least two weeks in
advance by calling 301.497.5763 or TDD 301.497.5779.
