Yesterday morning I joined Debbie Terry and Elliot and Nancy Kirschbaum for a walk along the C&O Canal towpath from Weverton to Lock #34 in Washington County. There were very few migrants; only one flycatcher, one vireo, two warblers, and no thrushes, tanagers, or sparrows. Birds of the day included:

Great Egret 1, seen by Elliot & Nancy only on the river above Lock 34

Broad-winged Hawk 1 seen by Nancy

Warbling Vireo 7 heard singing
Fish Crow 3
Chestnut-sided Warbler 1 immature female
Black-throated Blue Warbler 3 females
