I left the maintenance yard for a few minutes, before
Wallace's departure. At the same time, a field trip
led by Paul DeAnna arrived, and seemingly brought
birds from the ridge with them. We had a few species
of warblers, at least three Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, a
Baltimore Oriole, a male Eastern Bluebird, and last
but not least, an adult male Mourning Warbler.
Probably 30+ Broadwinged Hawks circled or sailed
overhead, seemingly to the ire of the resident
Red-shouldered Hawks. Most of the passerines were
feeding in the porcelain berry vines.

Cheers,
