Around 11:40 this morning (Sep 16) I heard and saw a Common Raven in a
small kettle of vultures fairly high over Padonia Rd about 1/2 west of
I-83 in the Cockeysville area. I heard a distinctive Raven croak, then
saw the Raven soaring like a hawk and showing its large, rounded tail.
It appeared buteo-size in relation to the vultures. I viewed this from
the parking lot of the "Padonia Crossing" (?) shopping center on
Padonia Rd in front of the Wild Bird Center. The Texas quarry is about
a half-mile to the east of where the kettle was.

About 10 years ago Hank Kaestner reported two Raven sightings from the
Hunt Valley area, which is nearby to the north. One sighting was by
Hank. The other was by Steve Simon, from a swimming pool. In January!
